Today, the second home game of the season was on the schedule, against the second-placed team in the league: SDO Westerhaar.
Vakgericht started the game strongly and scored the opening goal. In defense, SDO had space to shoot, but Vakgericht positioned well under the korff to catch the missed shots. The tying goal followed. Throughout the first half, Vakgericht took the lead in the game and played their own game. Walking-through passes, long distance shots, free balls, and short shots followed, resulting in 8 goals just before halftime. It seemed like we would go into the break with a tie, until Maarten scored a goal in the referee’s whistle.
With a one-goal lead, we started the second half. The game was even for a long time. In the last quarter, the energy disappeared a bit, allowing SDO to intercept balls more easily and make some goals. Occasionally, we came back with a goal, but unfortunately, it was not enough for the win. The final score was 15-20. Next week we will try again to win against Olympia ’22 1.
