On February 8, it was time for the match against the league leaders, Rivalen. This was the first game where the entire team was complete. And it wasn’t just any Saturday—it was the Saturday of our lustrum weekend! Because of this, a lot of supporters (with horns) quickly started to fill the stands. There had been some speculation about walking onto the field together, but since not everyone on the team was enthusiastic about that idea, we decided to skip it. As soon as the starting whistle blew, Rivalen wasted no time scoring goals. One shot after another from the sidelines found the target. Last Saturday VG1 went into battle again, this time against Ons Clubje. Within the first 10 seconds the first goal fell and before the first minute was over the second goal, both for us. Luck remained on our side, we obviously played the stars from heaven and went into halftime with an 11-7 lead. The enthusiasm alone was not enough, because no matter how nice the chances were the second half only one more went in. on the other hand, things went well for a while at Ons Clubje. Which made for a beautiful game where both sides were competing with each other, exciting until the last minutes. Eventually, after some beautiful actions on both sides, where Vakgericht missed a little too often, the score was 12-12.
