KeizersCup

On Saturday the 14th of September we travelled to Nijmegen for the second tournament of the year. I was the youngest of the group, so the average age was quite high, but nevertheless, we were very excited. We first dropped our stuff at some kind of church, which was the sleeping place. Here we prepared our outfit: “I want to be in a band!”, which we of course took very literally by going to the party in a swim band. Almost all associations had the same idea, so there were many swim bands present at the party (which was highly appreciated, as they could create some much-needed privacy). The party was special since there was a live band present which played a lot of fun songs. In the break of the band, Sander made a very important announcement: Bert reached his 10-year anniversary as a member of Vakgericht! Logically, he showed this experience by chugging a beer. There was much socializing done at the party, and I even met one of our members of honour: Sebastian! Of course, I had heard this name quite a couple of times, but I had never met him in person. Sander also did much socialising, but that could have been expected since there were many SkunK ladies present. With all these distractions, it was hard to take care of the biermeter carefully, so I made the smart choice to at least get something back for it (even though it were just 2 beers). After the party we all returned to the church to get some much-needed sleep.
When we arrived at the field the next morning, we were positively surprised: there were tosti’s at the breakfast! After enjoying these, we were fully ready to play some korfball. At the tournament, we formed a combi team with SkunK. Even though there were only 5 teams present, the matches were still a lot of fun. Sadly we did not manage to reach the podium, but we did win the performance prize! We did not remember when the last time was that this happened. Luckily, it was related to music and we had many people with us who had much music knowledge. After eating some delicious pie, we returned to Enschede.
